« Hekald Orricß, Saturday craning. Messrs Hoadley and Lyon report aa follow« : — On Wednesday wo held our usual stock sale at Taradale. 71 head of cattle, 60 fat wethers and 86 hordes were yarded. There was a. good attendants of bnvers, and tbe result of the sale wa» most latia-faetoi-y. it being no doubt the best sale held at Taradale for a long time. This confirms our often •expressed" opinion that Taradale i» a good centre for :i stock market, and it remains in the hands of lha surrounding settlers to establish it by bringing forward sufficient stock to induce buyers to attend tho^e sales. The stock realised as follows :— Cattle —yearlings, 1, £2; 4, £2 17s «d ; 7, £3 2s 6d ; 3, £.1 2s ; 2-year-old steers, 1, £S 16s ; 2, £5 ; 3-year-old stears. 3, £6 ; 8, £6 2s 6d ; 2-year-old heifers, 1, £3 ; 2, £3 10s ; calves, 3, 19s ;6, £2 5a j cows, 8, £2 Ills ; 1, £A 12s 6d; 1, £5 10s; 1, £5 15s; 2, £6; 1, £7 12s (id; fat cows, 1, £6; 1, £7 6s : fat wethers, GO at 1-is. Horses- Station weeds, 30 head from 2s 6d to 27s 6d per bead. This morning we hold our weekly sale of sheepskins, &c. 531 sbsepakins and 1 cask tallow were catalogued. There wa» a good attendance of buyers and prices ruled at about but week's ra.te3. The following prices were realised :— Sbeep.-kins.— Merino, medium, 3fd. id, 4sd, sd; crossbred, good, 4Jd, sd, 5Jd. Cfd, sjd, »nd a very superior lot of 253 skins brought 7Jd ; medium, 4Jd, 4?; J .; greeu, 4s each ; tallow, 2Jd.
