Berlin Congress wag a prize taker at the Highland Society's Show at Dumfries in 1878, and last year was placed first at the Hawke's Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society's Show. Berlin Congress is by Lord Lyon, out of Jean ; Lord Lyon by Sir Hercules, out of Puppet ; Sir Hercules by Rob Roy, Jean by Victor, Victor by Drumore ; Farmer out of Tibbie, Drumore Farmer by Glancer, out of Lumlock Mare ; Tibbie by Robert Burns, out of Susie, &c, &c Lord Lyon has been the winner of many prizes, and is now allowed to be the most successful sire of the day, his stock whenever exhibited proving his superior breeding. Berlin Congress before leaving home was selected by the Strathendrich Society and awarded their premium of £103 to travel in their district that season. We have since learnt that the foals he left are admitted by competent judges to be the best seen in that district for the last 12 years.
