+ (from oUb own correspondent.) Wairoa, Monday. The Wairoa County Council met last Saturday. Notice was given for nest sitting day respecting the separation of the offices of clerk and overseer. Certain natives applied for a road through purely native lands. The reply was that only ratepayers could be dealt with. It was decided to call for tenders for leasing the Wairoa ferry for the next 12 months, the ferryman to reside in the ferry house. The clerk reported that the Government auditor had taken away the cash book and certain vouchers. The Council ordered that no books or documents be allowed to bo taken from the office without the special sanction of the Council. Mr Duff tabled a motion that no byeroads be dealt with until the main ?\nes are completed. The motion was lost. Tho formation of the Owhio-road was postpened for consideration at the next meeting.
