Sheep Dip PATENT. mnE "^TEW TW. AND SCAB SPECIFIC. LITTLE'S CHEMICAL FLUID (non -poisonous.) i gallon will make 100 gallons. (Double the strength of any other Nanpoisonous Dip.) This Dip is perfectly Fluid, and is ihe only one which mixes instantly with cold Water, REQUIRING NO DISSOLVING. Ifc is entirely free from any sediment whatever, aud consequently all who use it aro sure of a uniform strength, which is not the case with any dip which settles to the bottom of the cask or drum. Its great superiority over ofcher preparations now in use consists in its cheapness, its good effect on the wool, which it renders soft and bright without interfering with the yolk, and its undoubted efficacy in destroying all ticks, lice, and every insect that infests the skins of sheep or domestic animals. It is nofc only non-poisonous, but may be used internally for worm in the throat in lambs ; it will also effectually cure foot-rot, and as a specific for scab it has never been known to fail. To those who dip in full fleece, this fluid will be found invaluable, for, being of a warm and protecting character, sheep will not catch cold, though dipped in the depth ef winter. One gallon of this concentrated fluid will make one hundred gallons of milk-white wash, afc which strength it is guaranteed to kill all lice ticks and eggs, as may be seen from tho testimonials we publish, one of which is from Mr Hood, tho celebrated sheep-breeder in Victoria. Mevriang, Hesam, April 8, 1579. Messrs. E. Dombrain & Sons, Dear Sir, — After my second trial of Little's Chemical Fluid, I havo much pleasure in testifying to its merits. It is most simple in preparation for use, kills all ticks and eggs at once afc the strength you recommend (1 to 100), and (in this I consider ifc superior to any other dips I have used) leaves tho w r ool with plenty of yolk and substance, while mesfc other preparations leave ifc dry and harsh, requiring a long time to recover its condition. — Truly yours, ROBERT HOOD. Mr Hood took 20 prizes at the last Show of the Australian Sheepbreeders' Association, held on the 28th August, 1879. All these sheep were dipped for ticks last season with Little's Chemical Fluid. Hobart Town, llth August, 1879. To the Hon. James White, Chief Inspector Sheep, Tasmania. Sir, — I have the honor to inform you that I have this day examined Mr Geo. Poynter's Sheep (dipped for ticks last month in Little's Chemical Fluid) and that tho ticks themsolves j and eggs are completely destroyed. The [ strength used was ono gallon of the preparation to 100 gallons of water, and the time of soaking each sheep about one minute. I can confidently recommend this Fluid for destroy- | ing ticks, kc, after the examination I have | made, on account of its strength and tho small amount of time and trouble required in preparing the Dip. — I have tho honor to be, Sir, your obedient servant, [ MALCOLM W. HARRISON, Inspector of Sheep for Hobarfc Town. In casks of from 35 to 40 galls, each ; sufficient; to dip from 7000 to 8000 Sheep, and in 4 and 5-gallon Iron Drums. For Ordinary Sheep Dipping. — Mix the Composition in the proportion 1 gallon to 100 gallons of water. This will be found sufficiently strong to kill Red Lice and Ticks, to groatlv improve fche quality and increase the quantity of wool, and greatly benefit the general health of the Sheep, but as it may not at this strength destroy all the eggs of the parasites, it may bo found necessary to dip a aoeond time within a fortnight (as advised wibh otlier Dips) , but if used in the proportion of 1 to 50 (as reeomraended), no second dipping will be required, aa ifc will destroy both tho eggs and the insects. Stir well ao as to ensure proper mixing. Speoiai Directions for Curing Scab.— Mix tlie Composition in. th© proportion of one gallon to forty gallons of warm water, break all hard scabs with the hands, and keep the Sheop about two minutes in the bath. Directions for Curing Foot Rot. — Having first dressed thoir feefc wifch the knifo, allow the Sheep to stand in a shalloAV bath of the same stiength as used for dipping; this can easily be arranged whilst tho Sheep stand to drain after the dipping. If Shoep are plunged, then their passage through the bafch may be found sufficient ; though in bad cases of Foot-rot the Shoep should be allowed to stand in a shallow trough a little longer. Directions for Washing Horses, Cattle and Dogs, to destroy Lice, Fleas, cure Mange, &c, — Dissolve one pint of the Composition in five gallons of oold or warm water. The animal to be thoroughly washed, or sponged over. Price. — Sold in 1, 2, 5, and 10 gallon drums, sufficient to dip 100, 200, 500, and 1000 sheep respectively, 2 or thr«e months after shearing, also in 40 gallon casks, sufficient for 4QOO sheep. Price, 5s 9d per gallon in casks, and 6a per gallon in drums. * Note. — As the Scab Insect burrows beneath the skin the water should be used warm to open the pores of the skin, and alhsw tho solution to penetrate moro froely, and it will then aot more rapidly and effectively.
