G. S. COOPER, Under Secrotary. SPECIFICATION FOR ADVERTISING OFFICIAL NOTICES UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF THE NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT. 1. All notices, as far as practicable, to appear in succession in one part .of the newspaper (but not the last page), or separately in a supplement if required. The words " Government Notifications," with Royal Arms, to be inserted over the first notice No Royal i Arms to be otherwise used. 2. The notices to be set in either Brevior, •Mimori, or Nonpareil type, according to the isizo ordinarily used for advertisements in the newspaper whose tender may be accepted ; provided that no size largor than tho first- , named type.be used. 3. Notices, are not to be leaded out or oxtended beyond tho space actually required to set them solid. When notices arc required to bo inserted more than once, tho number of insertions will be specified on the face of the copy. 5. Tenders to stato charges per inch in depth for — (a) Plain matter — first insertion. „ second or subsequent insertion. (b) Table matter, singlo column — first insertion. Table matter, single column — second or subsequent insertion, (c) Table matter, double column — first insertion. Table matter, double column — second or subsequent insertion. Second or subsequent insertions to appear either in consecutive issues or not, as may be required. Table matter, under heading (6) shall consist of four or inoro columns, with headings and rules ; and under heading (c) , of eight or more columns, with headings or rules. . 6. All tenders submitted must contain the information specified under the following heads : — (a) Name of newspaper. (J) Days of publication. (c) Width of column in pica ems. (d) Type in which advertisements are now set, or proposed to bo set. (c) Average circulation of the paper. 7. HPHE above Company, having received a 1 supply of Walker's Patent Grill Gas Cooking Stoves (the latest improvement of the same maker's stove used by Miss Fidler) are prepared to supply tho same at the following Sydney cash prices (including oven fittings) :— No. 1. Size 22 x 19 x 28 inches high, £5 5s No. 2. Size 26 x 20 x33 inches high, £7 10s and will connect from meter to stove at cost price. The consumption of gas in these stoves, as proved by Miss Fidler, is under 16 feet por hoiu-, at a cost of 2£d. The price of gas for cooking purposes is 15s per 1000 feet. The advantages derived from the use of those stoves arc : — 1. The meat or fish is perfectly free from taste or smell of gas, and also from contact with dust, cinders, or smoke. . 2. The meat retains all its juices and all dripping is saved. 3. With regard to cleanliness and saving of labor, the advantages are plain to any lady, whilst the trouble and attention required are far less than by tho ordinary method. 4. By means of these Grill Gas Cooking Stoves the process of roasting, baking, broiling, frying, boiling, and stewing can be done with a precision which cannot be attained by a common fire. 5. Five minutes' instruction is sufficient to enable any lady to conduct the cooking operations with success and certainty. 6. With gas one may have a fire at a minute's notice, and hot water at any hour, night or day.
