A case of infanticide or concealment of i J t>irth was discovered at Auckland y6stel?--day. Mary Gralbraith, a servant at Mrs Eussell's boarding house, - Hobson-street, gave birth to a female child and j>ut it in tho water-closet. She lias bee- fin service for five months. On tne (fccovery of the body Dr Hooper examined it and V reports that it was not matured, and is of opinion that it was dead before b^rfchl^ The putative father is unknown, as the ffirl as vet has declined to tell his name. < r
