SUSPECTED CHILD MURDER BY A WIDOW.

The body of an infant female child, $ra£pe<l up in an old petticoat, was on Monday; fo^nd under a tub at Ravensburne, Otago, ■under pefluliar circumstances. The child's rtofher^who is a widow, when questioned by the Court stationed at Ravensbourne, said it was borne on the Bth instant, and lived only one hour. Its paternity was accounted for in a very singular manner, and the police are making inquiries prior to holding an inquest.
