BOOKMAKER! S V. PUBLICANS AND BREWERS. The return match between the above came off on Clive-square yesterday afternoon. Ag> ood number of spectators assembled to witness the match, and a great deal of amusement was created by the style of j. >lay of some of the men. Neither of the teams turner! up in full number, and co. nsequently each of them had to obtain tht * assistance of outsiders. The Bookmakers- went to the wickets first, and succeede d in running up a score of 54 The Publi cans ar) d Brewers then went in, Gilberd and W. Oanlton taking the wickets first. Their innings would certainly have been very tame bat for the excellent batting of Gilberd, who csarried his bat through with * score of 47,. when game was called.
