COMMERCIAL.

Herald Office, Wednesday evening. At Messrs Eoutledge, Kennedy, and Co.'s sale of Mr Lawrence's cattle to-day at the Shamrock sale yards, there was a good attendance of buyers, and tho prices realised wero satisfactory to the sellers. This we attribute mainly to the late rains we have had, which have given our local graziers more feed than they have had for some time. Wo quote the following prices — 2 to 3 year old steers, from £7 10s to ' £10 ; 20 months old, from. £4 to £6; yearling steers averaged £2 7s 6d ; heifers, from £4 to £8 each ; calves averaged £3 each ; cows, from £5 to £6 10s each. The last named, although wellbred, were not in good condition, owing to the want of feed on the run from which they came. On the whole the sale must be considered satisfactory— l 23 head passed the hammer.
