PRIZE FIRING AT NELSON.

Match 16 Avas fired this afternoon for Hunter Brown's prize ; open to all members avlio have won prizes ; competitors to fire at a distance between 600 and 500 yards, and fire for 90 seconds ; then advance to a point between 500 and 400 yards, to be fixed by the commanding officer, and fire, the whole time of the firing- not to exceed three minutes. First prize, £5 ; second, £3 ; third, £2 ; and four of £l. Forty entries, and the prize takers were — Armstrong, 15 shots, 38 points ; Anderson, 15, 35 ; Wilson, 15, 34; Thomas, 14, 34; Burns, 15, 34; Ross, 15, 32 ; Leigh, 16, 32.
