We luia'O boon faA r ored Avith a copy of the report of tho Ilawko's Bay Philosophical Institute. It is not so full a report as those previously issued ; but, as is explained in its opening paragraph, this is accounted for by thu fact that it embraces only a period of eight months instead of v year. This Avas rendered necessary by tho change made in holding tho annual mooting in tho month of February instead of tho month of Juno. We congratulate the members on the promising condition of tho Institute, a condition which is in a very largo measure duo to tho zeal, care, and assiduity of their able honorary secretary, Mr William Coleuso.
