Taupo, s.B, from Southern ports "Wanata, e,s., from Northern ports Rofcorua, s.s., from Sydney, via Auckland Tararua, s.s, from Southern, ports Rangatira, s.b., from Poverty Bay Southern Cross, s.s., from the South Mendosa, ship, from London Chile, ship, from London Acadia, schooner, from Mercury Bay The s.s. Rangatira, Captain Evans, discharged her cargo for this port at the breastwork yesterday, and left in tho evening for Poverty Bay. She returns hero on Wednesday morning, and leaves again same morning for Wellington. Tho s.s. Kiwi, Captain Campbell, discharged yesterday her Napier cargo from Wellington, which consisted principally of transhipments from several English ships at that port. The Kiwi loft again for Wellington last night. The p.s. Manaia, chartered by the Harbor Board, was busy all yesterday during ebb tide towing out the 'grapnel over the bar j we have not heard with what result. The Union s.s. Taupo, Captain Cromarty, is due here this morning from Southern ports, and leaves again for tho North this evening at 5 o'clock. All the vessels in port yesterday were flying their ensigns half-mast high, out of respect to tho late Captain Smith. Public spirit is very strong ns regards enquiring what was done on board the Mohaka to save the late captain, but those on board the yesBel do not Beem disposed to answer any questions asked them with any degree of pleasure and straightforwardness. The barque Avona will probably clear at the Customs to-day with wool and tallow for London.
