Thbs.B. Rangatira, Capt. Evans, made the roadstead yesterday morning from Gisborne. The Sir Donald went off for the passengers, and at 11 o'clock took: off the outward passengers for Wellington, the Rangatira steaming for Wellington shortly afterwards. The s.s. Bella made her trial trip yesterday afternoon,, steaming out into the bay, and the way in \ which she performed her work quite came ' up to the expectation formed of her capabilities. She has undergone extensive repairs since she has been laid up, such as new solid crank shafts, new pumps, new brass bearing, and cocks, &c. As we have before stated, her boiler has received a thorough overhaul. Mr John Robertson, of the firm of Robertson and Co., Wellington, deserves a large amount of credit for the way in which he has, by his tact and ability, turned out the improvements to this vessel, and will no doubt receive a larger, share of the Napier patronage than hitherto. The Bella will tender the Hawea and Rotorua to-morrow morning. We learn, from, -private information that the barque Helen! Denny left London about the end of April for this port, and may be expeoted to arrive here about the end of July next. She has on board a full cargo of general goods. The 8.8. Go-Ahead, Captain Dicker, arrived from Wellington via the coast yesterday morning, and was shortly afterwards made fast to the outer wharf. She brought » good cargo of oats, which she discharged during the afternoon. She will leave for Wellington, calling at Pourerere, this day at 10 a.m. . The s.B. Southern Cross, Captain F. Holmes, took in her cargo of fat sheep yesterday morning, and shipped a thoroughbred colt for Mr Buckland, and left shortly after 9 o'clock for Auckland. The Union Co. 'a b.s. Rotorua, Capfcaiu Carey, leaves Wellington to-day for this port, and will arrive here early on Sunday morning. After landing and taking ia passengers, she will take her departure for Auokland and Sydney. The p.s. Matiaia,' " Captain Peteraen, is expected to leave for the Wairoa this ■ evening. The s.s. Kiwi, Captain James Campbell, should put in an appearance from Wellington via the coast to-day. The s.s. Hawea, Captain Kennedy, will arrive from the to-morrow morning, and will steam South at 10 o'clock. '
