PRICE OF BREAD.

Sir, — What is the reason for some of our bakers continuing to charge such an exorbitant price for bread I In Christchurch the 41b loaf is 9d, ours is now to be Is, or 25 per cent, more than Christchurch prices. There are yet some of the bakers who are not so unjust, so tho public ought to support them, and if they rise, let us form a co-operative bakery, and we can supply ourselves with bread at 4d a loaf. A small capital would do, as one of the unoccupied bakehouses could bo rented and a baker employed at once, so that the first batch could bo turned out next week. Let them reduce, or we will introduce the people's bread. — I am, &c, Ready Cask.
