In another column we reprint from the Xew Zealand Gazette the traffic returns on ten lines of railway for the four weeks ending the sth inst. The returns for the Canterbury and Otago lines are not given. It will be observed that the revenue from the Napier to Waipukurau line is still considerably in excess of any other. The returns show a falling off in the revenue of most of the lines as compared with the previous four weeks. This is no doubt due to the present season of the year being unpleasant for travelling. The line from Napier to Waipukurau shows a falling off amounting to £153 0s 2d ; Auckland to Mercer, £(>7 5s Id : Wellington to Masterton, £25 12s 5d ; Nelson to Foxhill, £181 4s lid ; Waitara to New Plymouth, £11 7s 7d ; Brunncrton to Greymouth, £143 14s 10(1: Picton to Blenheim, £52 2s 3d. The revenue from the line, Foxton to Manawatu, is £30 3s scl in excess of the previous four weeks, and the Kaipara to Riverhead line is lis 3d in excess. Deducting the excess, the net falling off amounts to £004 Gs 2d.
