SHOOTING LICENSES.

Sir, — I notice in the Talegraph of this evening a letter among the locals, in which it is stated that Mr Kinross shot a cock pheasant without having taken out a license. This is in reference to a paragraph in to-day's Herald, respecting the crop from a cock pheasant that was shot on Mr Kinross's run. lam unaware whether Mr Kinross did or did not shoot the pheasant in question, but if he did he did not infringe the law, as any person may shoot game on his own land without taking out a license. — I am, &c, Lex. Napier, May 14.
