CRICKET MATCH.
The Cricket Match between an eleven representing the'' Banks and Law of Napier, and an eleven of the Napier Cricket Club, was played at Taradale, on Saturday afternoon. It was somewhat late before the wickets were pitched, and two of the Club eleven were absent. Mr. A. L. Campbell, and Mr Lord, of Taradale, kindly took the place of the absentees, and the game commenced about 2 o'clock. The Banks and Law won the toss, and sent their opponents to the sticks. There was not time to finish the game, but in the first innings it was an easy victory for the Club eleven. From the number of byes the fielding on both sides appears to have been deficient.
