The following, telegraphed by Reuter to Greville & Co., appears in the Auckland papers: — London, Nov. I. There has been a fearful fire in Paris, by which a considerable portioa of the city has been destroyed. It arose from the ignition of petroleum oil. The losses caused by the fire are enormous, and the consternation amongst the people was great on account of the magazines. Paris is completely invested. The Parisians are desponding. There are dissensions amongst the garrison, some of whom clamour for capitulation, before the bombardment begins. Urgent entreaties are being made' to bring, up fresh armies to attack the Prussians in. rear. The Prussians have 1,000 siege guns i in position, and it is the opinion of good judgea that the city will not hold out two; days after the general bombardment opens! England remains neutral.
