fEBOM A CORRESPONDENT.] On Easter Monday, in a- field afc Meanee, given by Mr. Halle fc for the occasion, the following cricket was played between the Town of Napier and the Country Districts. About 12' -o'clock Both elevens had made""* their appearance, when, the Town, having won the toss, elected to take the field ;,.the Country, having to handle the willows, which they did effectively, their innings terminating in a score of 150, of which number Fountain contributed 75, going in first, and being one of the last out ; Speedy's 23, and Stevens' 11, were the only other double figures. . The bowling of the Town during this innings was straight, and their fielding good. After a short interval for luncheon, the Town commenced their innings, which terminated in 35 runs. Brathwaite and Sladon both bowled weH r during this innings, in which M'Hugh was the only one that made any stand. The Town, being so many runs iri arrear, had to. follow §lieir innings.
