Mb. and Mrs. George Dabrell, the latter better known as Mrs. Heir, are announced by placard as about to pay a visit to Napier. The West Chve School-boom, a tasteful erection just completed, will be formally opened on the evening of Friday next. Dr. Hitchings. — We are glad to see that this gentleman, who has been so long confined to his house from the effects of a severe accident, is so far recovered as ,to be able to go through his usual routine of duty. Total Abstinence Society. — A meeting of the Total Abstinence Society is convened for this evening, for the purpose of electing office-bearers, &c. The Bishop proposes to hold Divine Service on Sunday next, as follows : — Havelock, at 11 a.m., with administration of Lord's Supper ; and at West Clive (in the new School room) at 3 p.m. Hot and Sultby Weather has lately prevailed. A number of intending purchasers arrived on Saturday and Sunday by the s.s. Rangatira and schooner Colonist. Colonial Prize Firing. — Messrs. H. Renouf and A. 11. Blake (N.R.V.), and R. Williams (No. 3 Com. Militia), the representatives for this Province in the Colonial Prize Firing which takes place at Dunedin on the 30th of the present month, took their departure south on Sunday, by the s.s. Wellington.
