Messrs. Routledge, Kennedy, and Co. will sell on Monday next, at Maraekakaho, i cattle, horses, 2-tooth rams, &c. The Hon. the Defence Minister was to leave Auckland for Opotiki, in the steamer Luna, on Saturday last. The Leotard Brothers, as will be seen by advertisement, intend giving two more entertainments in Napier — on the nights of Saturday and Monday next. Township op Gisborne. — We call attention to the opportunity afforded by the departure of the Rangatira, this day at 4 p.m., to persons desirous of seeing the new township at Poverty Bay, prior to the approaching sale. Defence Force Men.— The drawing for lots took place on Wednesday last, when principals and substitutes were all forthcoming. Yesterday, the certificates were handed to the different parties ; and, to-day at four, the Rangatira will start with the men on board. Native Intelligence this week, is limited. It appears, from further despatches received, that Ropata made a dashing march through the Urewera country, taking Pukeroa's pah and 50 prisoners, five of whom were engaged under Te Kooti at Ohinemutu. Ropata, after a very short rest, started again in quest of Te Kooti.
