THE following Town and Suburban Sections in and adjoining the TOWNSHIP of GISBORNE, situate at Turanganui, Poverty Bay, on land purchased bi Government from the Natives, will be sole by auction at the Crown Lands Office, Napier, on the 13th day of April, 1870. Subjoined are the Regulations undei which the sale will be conducted, and t\ Schedule of the Sections to bo submittec for sale. Plans can be seen on application at the General Government Agents' Offices al Auckland and Napier, at the Office of the Secretary for Crown Lands, Wellington, and at the Crown Lands Commissioners Offices in the other Provinces. J. D. ORMOND, Goneral Government Agent, East Coast District Napier, 16th Feb. 1870. The following aro the Regulations anc Conditions under which the land will be sold : — 1. The Sale will be conducted by the Agent at Napier of the General Govern' mont, or such person as ho shall authorize to conduct tho sale. 2. The said Agent may order any lot t( be withdrawn at any time beforo it is pu up. 3. Tlie land will be sold in lots by auc^ tion to the highest bidder. In case o doubt as to the highest bidder for any lot or in caso the person to whom a lot hai been knocked down shall fail to make tin deposit hereinafter mentioned, tho lot wil be at once put up again. 4. The purchase money of every allotment shall bo paid by the purchaser thereof or his agent, to the said Agont of the General Government, as follows, viz. : — One fourth at the time of sale or selection by way of deposit, and the remainin,. three-fourths within three calendar months tifter such sale or selection. In the even; of tho second payment not being made a. aforesaid, the sale shall bo void, ancl the deposit forfeited. 5. Any land that shall have been put up to auction and not sold may bo purehaseci by any person for cash at the upset price al which tho same was put up for sale, a 1 anj time, unless ifc shall have been specially withdrawn from salo by order of tho Government Agent at Napier : Provided always that ifc shall bo lawful for the said Agont, instead of permitting any land to be purchased under this regulation, to cause the same to bo put up again to auction. 6. Any land thafc shall have been put up to auction and sold, but tho purchase whereof shall not havo been completed, may be purchased at tho price at which it shall have been sold as aforesaid, deducting the amount of deposit paid, unless withdrawn from sale as in manner provided in the last preceding section. 7. Every person desiring to select land, open for selection after auction under these Regulations, shall describe tho same by the number of the allotment, so that the same may bo identified. The application shall bo in writing, and shall stato tho quantity of land required, tho name in full of the purchaser, and shall be directed to the said General Government Agent under a sealed cover. 8. Tho applicant shall, at tho time of making his application, pay to the said General Government Agent one-fourth of the upset price aforesaid, or the balanco of purchaso money aforesaid, as the caso may be; and, if tho application is not accepted, the money so paid will lie returned. 9. Ihe said agont shall, by himself or his deputy, immediately after any such application is accepted (and in the presence of the applicant or his agent, if required), enter into a Minute Book, to be kept for
