Miscellaneous.

The lighters Why Nor, Greenwich, and Mania, have been actively employed the last few months in attending to the English ships; the schooners Success, Three Brothels, and Hero, have been constantly employed in bringing the wool from the coast for.shipment. Another month will, no doubt, see us through the wool season. The statement we shall then be able to give of the quantity of wool and flax exported by the three ships, witb toh value and the quantity sent by each shipper, ngainst that shipped last year, will prove interesting in connection with the progress of the province. The barque R. T. Turnbull left our waters last Friday evening for London direct, having on board a cargo of wool, weighing 531,3501bd. and valued at £26,562. We wish her a prosperous voyage home. The B.s. Lord Ashley, Wheeler, master, will tako the place of the fine s.s. Phoebe this trip. She was to have left Wellington last evening for this port and Auckland. The harbor does not present that busy appearance that it did and has done for some months past, but still there is ground for congratulation. Notwithstanding the hard and unfavorable times, the revenue receipts, are keeping up extremely well, in fact beyond' those of the same period in other years. We may consider ascertain still further ndvancement of revenue this year, with a large increase of shipping, which will pay for needful harbor improvements, such, for instance, as a lighthouse, which would be a great boon to the shipping interests.
