The Wangapeka -diggings are found, by the surveyor's official report, to be miles within the south-west gold field. The Superintendent will, next week, proclaim the extension of the gold fields boundaries, embracing a large distance. The result of the inquiry gives miners all they contended for. A rich lode of copper ore has been found at Collingwood. Pioneer companies have been formed. Like the Burra Burra mines, the ore, 'on being tested, yielded 20^ per cent, of cqpppr. Wangapeka.
