Monday, November 8f. .; The Superintendent and a large partyV in* eluding the horn the Premier, leaved to* night, to lay the foundation stone of the Wanganui bridge to-morrow. The Provincial Coimoil has been summoned to meet on Monday, 22nd instant, preparatory to the Superintendent leaving for London on the 28th. f The appeal case, Kennard v. Feather;ston, has been decided in favor of the province. It was the last effort of the contractor to enforce the patent slip contract. , The General Assembly is further pro* rogued to the Ist February. A large quantity of specimens from Kairaanawa have been brought in .by the Wanganui prospecting party, and are now undergoing analysis by Mr. Skey, of < the Museum. At present they afford no indication of the presence of gold. The death warrant has arrived for one prisoner (Hatniora). The other two East Coast prisoners have had their sentences commuted to penal servitude. The Rangatira leaves here on Friday.
