AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKET.

T&B following reports (to October 29) have been forwarded us in anticipation of their appearance in the Auckland daily journals :— Carey, Gillks, Hunter & Co. This firm report horse stock to bo in good demand. Large numbers ara being brought forward, and high prices are realised. Fat beasts are scarce, and the quality coming forward is, generally speaking, not good. They average from 40s to 45s per lOOlbs. Sheep are plentiful, but good heavy weights sell well. "We Bold a lot ex Lord Ashley from Taranaki at 24a to 295. Middling quality are not in such good demand; they may be quoted, at 13s 6d to 18s, Pifj'S : the supply is not equal to the requirements, and the soiling price is from 4d to Sd the Ib. MR. ALFRED BUCKLAND. At the Haymarket, on Saturday, less than , the usual number of horses were penned. For the draught stock advertised there was fair competition, and, with one exception, all were sold. They brought from £25 to £31 10s. ; light harness horses from £12 to £18. At Eemuera, on Thursday, dairy stock were BteadiJy in request at late rates. Young and store cattle were offered in large numbers and were high in price, particularly young cattle. The cattle ex Coomerang were in good order, and the greater number were purchased for slaughter. A very choice shorthorn bull was eagerly competed for, and was purchased by Mr. William Gardiner for £45. Eat cattle were in usual supply and of excellent quality. 72 head were yarded and all were sold. The bidding, however, was rather dull throughout, and the value and prices rather lower than last week. Small sized cattle brought fully 405., large numbers about 375. 6d. the lOOlbs. Store sheep pens were well filled. Merino wethers brought sa. 9d. to 6b. 3d. each ; merino hoggets, 7s. 3d. ; 6-tooth merino wethers, in good order, from 12s. 3d. to 13s. Fat sheep were in much less numbers than last week, but no improvement in values was obtained. Lambs were also in less supply. For the first few pens better prices were obtained, but prices fell to last week's rates as the sale prooeeded. Pigs were in moderate supply only. Large animals were of less value ; small, of choice quality, in demand at full rates.
