Rangatira, s.s,, for Wellington, Saturday next , Phoebe, s.s., for Wellington) November 8

The s.b. Wellington left Fort Chalmers at 5 p.m. on the 23rd inst; arrived at Lyttelton after a fine passage. She had fresh northerly winds and heavy sea; left there for Wellington, at 6 p.m. on the 25th instant; experienced strong N.W. gale and heavy eea, and arrived at Wellington at 1 p.m. on the 26th instant; left again at 3' 30 p.m. on the 27th for Napier; experieaoed Btrong westerly breeze and fine weather, and arrived at 10 a.m, on the 28th instant. The N.Z.S.N. Co.'s s.s. Wellington left yesterday for Auckland. Amongst her passengers for Auckland are the Hon. W. Gisborne and Col. Gorton. The N.Z.S.N. Co.'s e.s. Kangatira, whioh left here some few days ago for Auokland, may be expeoted from that port about Saturday next. The favorite cattle trader a.s. Star of the South may be expeoted from Auokland today. The ship Chili, for Auokland and this place, had not left London up to the 13th August, but would sail soon after, The B. T, Turabull, now 117 dayß out, is making rather a long trip of it, The Wellington was choke full of passengers, chiefly for Auokland, We are glad to recognise amongst others for this place, an old settler Mr. John Stuart, of the firm of Stuart & Co., after aa absenoe of about two years in England. After the 31st December, the pilotage at this port will be collected at per ton instead of by the foot, as now. This will give a great additional increase to our pilotage collections. The Keera, as., left Wellington for Manu> kau yesterday at 10 a.m. Why Not, ketch, Warnes, left Wellington for this port on the 24th inst. ■■ The brigantine Esther cleared atH.M. Customs on the 27th inst., for Wellington via the Coast, and is now waiting for orders.
