I Reports for week ending October 15.] Horse stook of a light description have sold more freely than previous week; medium draught brought from £12 to £15 ; the firstclass riding mare "Mignonette," £33 10s, For heavy draught there was scarcely an enquiry. At the Sheep Fair on Tuesday there was a full attendance of buyers, and a much larger j number of sheep were brought forward than wore advertised. Not many rams were pe;med ; those brought forward were generally of good quality, and about one-third remained unsold. Those sold brought from £1 to £4 15s each, the greater number bringing from 40s to 55a eaoh. At the Remuera yards, on Thursday, dairy stock sold very freely, good cows bringing from £12 to £15. Store cattle of all descriptions were better worth fully 10s, per head, A large number were penned. A thin market of fat cattle met with a dull sale ; about forty head only were sold at a decline of 3s. 6d, the lOOlbs. on last week's prices. The remainder -were withdrawn. A small market of fat sheep of good quality met with a steady sale at last week's prioes. Fat lambs were very pleatif ul, but in request ; the greater number brought from 14s. to 18s. each. Fat calves were in short supply and at extreme prioes. At the skin sale, held on Friday, there was a full attendanoe of the trade. Full-woolled brought from 2a. lOd. to 3s. 9d. ; lambs skins, Bd. ; hides, 14s, 6d. eaoh. WM. HUNTEB AND CO. At the Durham yards, during the past week, the demand for stook has been moderate. Horses of a good stamp have sold readily at fair prioes. Good draught horses are scarce, and there is an indisposition on the part of stockowners to breed this description of stock, which is evinced by the f act that a very well-bred cart stallion imported from Nelson was withdrawn, £50 being the highest price. Good upstanding saddle horses are much sought after, and command fair figures, We quote haoks from £7 ss. to £17 10s ; light harness horses,, from £10 10s, to £14 15s. eaoh. On Mond.ay, at Newmarket, there was great vitality in the oattle market, which the showery weather has tended to increase. Dairy cows were in moderate supply, and sold freely at an advance on last week's prices, Store cattle were not penned in such numbers as the previous weak, but obtained a slight advance in price, there being a large attendance of buyers. Fat stock were in moderate supply, and sold freely, fully maintaining late rates. Sheep and lambs were in adequate supply, and sold at good prioes. The supply of pigs was inadequate, and commanded high figures. The following is a list of prices :— Dairy oows from £11 15s, to £14 ; yearlings from £4 to £4 15s ; two-year old steers, from £6 2s, 6d. to £7 7s. 6d ; three-year-old steers, . £8 10s to £Q 10s ; beef from 40s. to 425. 6d. perlOOlbs.. Sheep, half-breds, from 18b. to 335 ; lambs from 10a, to 15s. eaoh. CAREY AND GILLES. The markets for fat oattle continue steady at 375. for medium to 425. 6d. for primeat quality, at which prices a fair number have passed to the butchers during the week. Fat sheep were penned in average numbers, and sales effected brought last week's ratea. Store cattle were not offered in large numbers ; those brought forward maintained their value and found ready purchasers. Dairy oows of good quality are still enquired for and command good prioea. Piga were in short supply, insufficient for requirements. On Wednesday, at the Junotion Yards, we obtained the following prioes :— Fat Oattle. — The oargo ex Keera, from Wanganui, just landed in prime order, was sold at 375. to 405., and as high as 425. 6d, per lOOlbs, for many choice lots, Napier oattle, £13 ss. to. £17 10s. eaoh. Fat Sheep, — A- very full market was penned, (in all 1,027), and all were sold as follows : — Ex Keera, from Wanganui, 255. to 265, ; Napier half-bred, ex Star of the South, 14s, Cd, to 188. 6d. ; Napier Merinos, lls. to 11s- 6d. ; ex Bangatira, 10s. 6d. to 12s. 9d. ; ex Tawera, shorn Merinos, superior quality, Bs. 3d. to 9s. 6d. Store bullocks, £8 12s. Gd. to £9 16s, eaoh. Calves, £2 13s, to £3 7s. Gd. eaoh.
