AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKET.
MESSRS. CAREY AND GILLIES (.Reports for week ending September 10.] The market was fairly supplied with fat cattle this week, and prices were fully maintained, the average being from 38 to 40s, and beat quality beef as high as 455. Young stock found ready sale at from £4 to £7 7s. Grown store cattle are more in request, and will continue so as the season advances. We hear of some having changed hands at £10. Miloh cows at calving are still soiling at high rates. Sheep : A fair supply were offered during the week, but no improvement iv price ; store Merinos brought 9a to 10s ; long-woolled sheep are looked for, but buyers are not inclined to give the price for such stock, On Wednesday, at the Junction Yards, the following prices were obtained ;•— Fat oattle ■. The cargo ex Keera (60 head) from Whanganui realised from £7 up to £20 per head ; milch cows realised £13 10s each. Store oattle : A number of yearling heifers and steers brought from £3 12s fld, £4 2a 6d to £6 17s 6d eaoh. Fat sheep ex Keera from Wanganui fetched from 12s 3d to 25s 6d each. Store sheep : A number ex Star of the South from Napier were yarded, but most were withdrawn ; those sold brought from 10b to 1 4s each. Calves were freely oompeted for at from 50s to 57s each.
