House op Representatives. — In future the House of Representatives will sit on Mondays, and meet every day at 2, instead of 3 o'clock. This has been found necessary, in order to get through with the large amount of business which still remains to be disposed, of during the short period— not more than three weeks — which still remains pf the session.—'Evening Post, Aug. 21. An Orderly I)r6wnbd. — Intelligence reached town on Monday night that a mounted orderly had been drowned that morning while attempting to swim tho Mimi river. From inquiries made yesterday, we ascertained that -Tames Curran, the orderly, left Waiiti at 8 a.m. on Monday, and should have been at Urenui about 10. Mr. W. Oarrington, jun., came by the same road a short time after the orderly, and on reaching Urenui was surprised to find that Curran had not arrived. Two orderlies were immediately sent to Waiiti from Urenui to communicate the circumstance. The bush was then scoured on both sides of the Mimi, but thore were no traces of the missing man, although his I horse was seen to come from the interior, near from Mr. Messenger's house. From later intelligence we gather that the body of James Curran was found near. the ford-ing-place below high-water mark, with the spine of his back broken. We have heard many, supposition^ as to the causfr of Ciir-f ; ran's death, but think it would be unwise to publish thw*y%trmM ffmldt
