Last evening a meeting of persons interested in the above was held afc the Commercial Hotel (Mr. Steed's.) The room was crowded. W. Routledge, Esq., having been voted to the chair, the following re- . solutions were unanimously agreed to : — [ Moved by Mr. Weber, and seconded - by Mr. Charles — That it is desirable the ■ present subscribers double tho amount . opposite their names, so as to enable the • contractor to go on with the sinking of the well for ten days further ; and that i the amount subscribed should go towards ; any shares the subscribers may agree to ! take in the proposed company ; and that 1 those subscribers who do not become ■ shareholders may have the privilege of i transferring their subscription to any other subscriber. Moved by Mr. LeQuesne, and seconded ■ by Mr. J. Charles — that the following I gentlemen do form themselves into a committee for the proposed company, viz., — \ Messrs. Kinross, Kennedy, Balharry, i LeQuesne, Weber, (treasurer.) 3 Moved by Mr. Mabbett, and seconded f by Mr. Hartley — that three of the pro--3 posed committee should form a quorum.
