Drunkenness. — Robert Howlett, an old offender, was charged before the Resident Magistrate with having been drunk on the streets on the night of the 4th inst., and fined 55., or, in default, five days' imprisonment with hard labor. Not being able to raise the needful, he was sent to the top of •the hill. Civil Cases. — Canning v. Scrimgeour — - £50, money advanced. Judgment by default, -with costs £6 7s. Luff v. Paora Torotoro — Claim £16 125., for goods sold and delivered. Judgment confessed for amount claimed, and i£l 4s. Costs.
