PROJECTED DEPARTURES.

Excelsior, barque, for London, early Ida Ziegler, ship, for London Wellington, 5.8., for Aucklaud, 25th inst.

The p.s. Sturt, Colonial Government gunboat, Pairchild, arrrived iv the roadstead at 4 a.m. on Tuesday last, and entered the Pot at 6 v.m., having on board tho hon. J. C. Richmond, Major Nixon, Captain Anderson, and 16 Armed Constabulary for Poverty Bay. The Sturt left Napier on Tuesday, 12th, at 3.15 p.m.; arrived in Wellington at 7 p.m. on 13th ; took her departure for Wanganui at midnight, and arrived there at 12.30 a.m, on 14th; landed horses and con«tabulary ; left at noon on 15th for Wellington, and arrived at noon on Saturday. She lott Wellington for Napier at 9 p.m. on Sunday, 17th, and experienced a very heavy sea from the E.S.E. throughout the passage ; leffc Napier for Wairoa and Poverty Bay at 8 p.m. on 18th. She will take tlie • emainder of constabulary, horses, &c» from Poverty Bay to Wanganui. The Eagle, ketch, 41 tons, Lovelock, hence on the lsfch, arrived at Wellington in the afternoon of Sunday last. Tlie schooner Success, Trimmer, was to leave Wellington for Napier and the coast on Sunday night last. The brig Maggie, Arnold, master, leffc Napier on the 29th November last, and on the following morning was off Portland Island, and on Tuesday morning off the East Cape, when strong winds were experienced to tbe North Cape, which waa rounded on the eleventh day out. Prom thence to Lord Howes' Island, which was sighted on tho 19th December, a continuation of strong contrary winds were experienced. Thence more favourable winds prevailed, and arrived at Newcastle on the 22nd December. Took in a cargo of coals, and left again early in the morning ofthe 3rd January, 1869, with light winds from E.N.E. On tho 2nd day out experienced strong E.S.E. winds with a heavy cross sea which lasted two days. Thence to Cape Egmont experienced remarkably fine weather, with the wind chiefly from tho eastward. Made the land about Cape Egnio»t on the 18th inst. ; ran through the Straits with strong N.W. winds, attended with thick and rainy weather. Hounded Capo Pa'liser at4p.m. onthel9th inst., experiencing very heavy gales iroin the N.W. along the coast with very nigh seas. Bounded the Kidnappers at 8 p.m. on the 20th, beat up the bay and came to an anchor at 1.15 am. on the 22ud. Capt. Arnold reports that there were no vessels loading for Napier at the dato of his leaving Newcastle. The Storm Bird was intended to steam at 1 this morning for Blackhead, there to load wool for Wellington. A fore-and-affc schooner was in the offlng last evening. The schooner Saucy Lass left Auckland for Napier, via Mercury Bay, on the 9fch inst. Arrived at Mercury Bay next day, loaded with 24,967 feet sawn timber, and left on tlie 17th. She arrived at the anchorage at 11 p.m. ou tho 20th. Had light variable winds lo Portland Island, and thence strong breeze from south-west.

The schooner Kauri left Auckland on the 7fch instant, and arrived at the Great Barrier on the 9bh. Loaded with firewood, and left for Napier on Sunday, the 17th. Experienced a heavy south-east gale first day out, since then light northerly winds, and arrived at the anchorage at 3 p.m. on the 21st. The s.s. Storm Bird leffc Wellington at 2.30 p.m. on the 20th inst. Encountered heavy north-west gale to Blackhead, from there strong south-west breeze, and arrived at the anchorage at 7 p.m. on the 21st, entering tho Iron Pot at nine next morn* in*?. Sho brings a full general cargo. The schooner Jubilee left Russell, Bay of Islands, on Sunday, 17th inst. ; had light south-east winds to Mercury Island, from thence north-west winds to Portland Island, and south-west winds across tho Bay. She arrived at tho anchorage at 11 p.m. on Thursday. Sho brings a cargo of Bay of Islands coal, consigned to Watt Bros.

Tho St. Kilda is shortly expected at Napier from Poverty Bay, via tho Wairoa, with Mr. Eichmond on hoard.

Tlio s.s. Mataura arrived at Wellington, from Sydney, on "Wednesday last. A steamer arrived late last evening— probably the Star of the South, from Aucklaud.
