Acclimatisation.— The sale of English birds imported by the Wellington Provincial Government in the Wild Dnok, took place at Mr. Wallace's mart Wellington. There was a large attendance of buyers, and the bidding was very spirited. Tlie following purchases were made: — Pair of nheasants, 26s each, Mr. Waring Taylor ;*do do, 27s each, Dr. Featherston; do do, 28s each, Major Mcßarnett ; do do, 28s each Mr Grace; cock pheasant, 15s, Captain Stafford ; do do, 15s, Mr. Plimmer; 17 starlings, £T 15, Mr Ludlam; 16 do, £4 10s, Mr Anderson; 3 thrushes, £3, Capt. Stafford ; 6 do, £6 6s, Mr Bannatyno ; 6 do, £6 6s, Mr Johnson; 6 do, £7 ; Mr Denton ; 6 do, £7 7s Mr Owen ; 3 blackbirds, £2 12s Mr Arnot ; 8 do, £6 6s, Mr Owen; 8 do, £6 10s, Mr. Martin; 8 do, £7 ss, Mr Harrison; 3 yellowhammers, £1 'is, Mr Barraud ; 7 sparrows, £2 10s, Mr Ludlam; 10 chatfinches, £2 10s, Mr Rhodes; 2 sparrows, £1 os, Mr. Ludlam. Several cages ot canaries wore disposed of at the same time, realising about £10 altogether , the i sale was most successful
