Tenders. Superintendent's Office, Napier. Oct. 28, 1868. SEALED TENDERS will be received at this office until noon on SATURDAY, the 21st November, for - Making 50 chains of the road through Porangahau Flat. The poles to be sawn from heart of totara, perfectly sound, straight, free from loose knots, shakes, and sap. (Any poles containing the least sap will be rejected.) The majority are required to be 20 feet long, 6 inches square at tho top, and 8 inches square at the butt, A few will be required of the following increased dimensions : — 20 feet long — 8 inches square at top, 12 inches square at butt 27 feet long— B inches square at top, 12 inches square at butt 30 feet long — 8 inches square at top, 18 inches square at butt 40 feet long — 12 inches square at top, 24 inches square at butt The poles are to be delivered along the line which will be pointed out by the Telegraph Surveyor, following generally the pre^ sent dray road as far as the Mangakopikopiko ; thence coursing with leading ridge on right slope of Esk Valley, to point above Kaiwaka side-cutting ; thence following again present dray road to Mohaka. Tenders are to contain price per pole as per sizes given. Each tender must be accompanied by a deposit of £10 as a guarantee - of good faith, which sum will be forfeited should any competitor refuse to sign the contract in the event of his tender being accepted. Each tender must include the names of two sureties for approval, who are willing to become bond for the due performance of the contract in the event of the tender being accepted ; and must bs accompanied by a notification to that effect, signed by the proposed sureties. Two months from date of signing oontract, is the term allowed for completion of work. ; Further information can be obtained at the Telegraph Office, Napier, on application to Mr. Bold, Telegraph- Surveyor. Tenders to be endorsed " Tenders for supply and delivery of Telegraph Poles between Napier and Mohaka," and addressed to E. H. Bold, Esq., Telegraph Surveyor, Telegraph Oflice, Napier.
