AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKET.
Albebd Buckxand'b report for week ending August 28. At the Haymarkot, on Saturday last, there was no variation in value of fodder. The brougham brought £61, and a dog- cart £25. Good draught stock were in inquiry, and brought from £30 to £37 10s each. Light harness and saddle horses were not in request. At Remuera, on Thursday, there was a large number of dairy cows. Young animals in good condition brought from £10 to £13 each ; but aged cows and other cattle in low condition were at relatively low rates. Grown cattle in fresh condition, particularly steers, were freely competed for at low rates. Fat cattle were in full supply— 9l bead sold. Prices were higher'last week about 2s 6d the 1001 b. Those from Whanganui averaged £13 each, and those from Napier about £16. Several large oxen brought from £18 to £25 10s each ; best quality of fat cattle bringing about 45s the 1001 b. A full market of store Bheep (merino wethers) met with very slight inquiry ; a portion oniy of them were sold, at prices varying from 10s to 12s each. Fat sheep were in fair supply, principally from Whanganui. Half-breds brought from 20s to 28s each ; merinos, 14s to 18s. 470 were sold to the consumers.
