Napier, April 25, 1868. 278 [ADVBETIBBMENT.] (To the Editor of the Hawke's Bay Herald ) SIR, — Referring to an advertisement in the Herald of the 21st instant, the inhabitants of Waipawa beg to thank the " Lion " of Waipukurau (query don't he rather belong to the donkey tribe ? his ears are quite long enough, but for brains we would give the preference to the latter), for his kind invitation to view the telegraph station at Waipukurau. We would suggest that he exhibit himself by " Telegraph," not in his castle, if he has one, as he would make the public believe, but in hia den, with his cubs around him. As the, so called, Castle is advertised for sale, it's to be hoped the next tenant's composition will be more to his credit, and show a more neighbourly feeling to those around him. The advertisement alluded to undoubtedly must have been a great undertaking, and it does the "Lion" great credit; it shows the man, his disposition of mind, sense, and sentiments. He concludes with our loss of the Telegraph station at Waipawa ; this has still to be decided, and Bhould we ultimately have one there, we will then allow him to roar " ehau," " ehau," " ehau," but not till then.— l am, &c, No* Rabbit. Waipawa, April 23, 1868. ' 294
