THE ABYSSINIAN WAR.
Sui Robert Napier started for Attegorai, Abyssinia, on the sth of February, for which place a majority of the Magdala advance force was en route. Colonel Phayre was making rapid progress with roads beyond Attegerat. Water and grass were abundant. The chief, Kassay, received Major Grant with great honour, and it was expected that he would meet Sir Robert Napier at Attegerat. The rebels were opposing Theodorus's march to Magdala. lie had precipitately returned, leaving the road open. Stoves were rapidly arriving. News had been received from the captives, stating that they were in good health. It was considored doubtful whether the chief Grobazys would attack King Theodoras.
Advices from Zoulla, dated January 14th, state that King Theodoras was between Wadela and Dalanta, near Magdala. The rebels were in his front; Gfobazys also was in the neighbourhood. An engagement was believed to be imminent. G-o---bazys had sent a friendly message to Sir R. Napier.
It is asserted on reliable authority that the Viceroy intends to withdraw the greater part of the Egyptian troops from Abyssinia, leaving only a few men at Massowali.
