STATEMENT OF ONE OF THE INJURED.
In another ward was a good-looking woman, age 3O.years, named Hannah Roberts, who lived at No. 3a, Corporationlane. She had sustained injuries from the falling debris at the time of the explosion. She was in a quiescent state, but was enabled to give the following particulars : — I was sitting at my window. I live at No. 3a. When it occurred I do not remember any shock. The first that occurred to me was a blow I received on the head. I thought the roof was falling in. Something struck me on the head ; I do not know what it was. I thought at first that it was the curtain of the window which fell. I remember nothing more till I found myself in the ruins, and was carried away by the men with brass caps on. I did not hear the noise of the explosion. My mother and father were sitting on the other side of the room, but, poor creatures, I do not know what happened to them. I am in great pain.
