I DONALD M'LEAN, Superintendent of , the Province of Hawke's Bay, do hereby proclaim and notify that the land described in the annexed sohedule will be open for public selection, under the Regulations of the 4th day of March, 1858, and the additional Land Regulations of the 15th February, 1855, at the Land Office, Napier, on and after Wednesday, the 27th of November, 1867. All that parcel of land in the province of Hawke's Bay, containing by admeasurement 1,800 acres, more or less, known as the Matau, being portion of the Takapau Block, Boundaries :— Starting on the south bank of the Makaretu River, at the north-wesi point of the western boundary of J. Johnston's Ruataniwha freehold ; thence up that river to a peg on the south bank aforesaid, opposite Mr. Roy's whare ; and following the lines bearing 157 degrees, 975 links; 172 degrees, 1420 links • and 92 degrees to the western boundary of Mr, J. Johnston's free* hold ; and along that boundary to the starting point at the Makaretu River. 260 Boiling Down. BOILING DOWN BY STEAM. nnHE Undersigned are now ready to BOIL JL DOWN Sheep or Cattle by Bteam at their establishment on the Tutaekuri, between Tareha's and Meanee Bridge. They are prepared to boil down 100 sheep per day, and will' shortly be able to undertake 200 pei day. Mr. Torr has accommodation in the adjoining paddooks for grazing Sheep sent to be boiled down. PROSPECTUS:— The Provisional Committee have ordered, from Geelong a Steam Apparatus, with the most modern appliances, capable of boiling down 2000 Sheep per week, and being so arranged that the boiling- down capabilities may be at any future time increased at a small cost. They have also direoted that a fully competent overseer shall accompany the apparatus. With the prospeot before the sheepfarmers of an unprecedented fattening season, it is highly desirable that the establishment be in working order in December next. It is proposed that an immediate call of £2 per share be made, and a further call of £1 per share on the 3rd November. It is believed that no further call will be requisite unless the Company chooses to much enlarge its establishment. . From estimates furnished by a highly competent gentleman in Geelong, the net profits on the season, extending from Deoember 30 to June 1, will, it is believed, be sufficient to pay for the whole of the plant. The site of the establishment will be fixed at a meeting of the shareholders, to be convened as soon as the share list is closed, which should not be later than Ist November, in order that operations may be commenced during the month of Deoember.
