AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKET.
(Mr. Buckland's report for the Week ending Oot, 23. Theee was no improvement in the value of . horse stock on Saturday last ; good animals only ocoasioned any competition ; inferior stook almost unsaleable. < Maize brought 2s 9d per bushel. The cattle sales held during the past week, at Otahuhu, Henderson's Mill, and Kemuera, have been well attended, and large numbers of store cattle and dairy cows were brought fo.ward ; prices of all kinds of store cattle have a downward tendency. -Fa* cattle were freely competed for on Thursday, and prices were higher -about 2s 6d the lOOlbs. Fat sheep were also better worth 2s. per head- the, merino wethers ex Alice Cameron averaged 15s 6d each. Lambs were plentiful, and lower in price Is to 2s por head. Pigs were in better demand than usual.
