WELLINGTON.

Independent Office, Friday, oth July. During- the last month business has been very quiet, very few large transactions have taken place j every one is buying for immediate demands, and although importers offer goods at very low prices, purchasers will not operate except in limited parcels. . The Loohnagar has arrived fr.om London, and only adds to our excessive stocks, Advices from England are, however, favorable, as very few goods seem to be on the way out. Monetary affairs seem pretty good; the 4th of the month passed off well considering the continual rainy weather we have had during the past month and the general dulnessof the season, Bank rates of discount and exchange remain as previously quoted.
