The General Assembly has probably met by this time — His Excolienoy having gone to Wellington in H.M.S Charybdis for the purpose of opening it. Our news from the seat of government for some months is likely, therefore, to be important j and it is matter of regret that our opportunities of receiving news are now so few and far betweeu. With regard to the proceedings of the Assembly, we take this opportunity of mentioning that the proprietor of this journal accepted the offer made by the Colonial Secretary to supply slips .of proceedings at a stipulated rate of payment.
