Hawke's Bay Herald SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 1867. ARTESIAN WELL.

We have much pleasure in iutimatiug that the second well suuk by Benuet aud party on the Meanee Flat, lias, unlike the first one, proved an entire success. Water was struck, yesterday, at a depth of 151 feet — one foot, we believe, beyond the contract depth. The overflow was splendid, the water rising to a height of 20 feet, at the rate of ten to twelve gallons per minute.

The Meanee settlers are justly proud of this result. ■
