COMMERCIAL INTELLIGENCE.
At Mr. John Stuart's great Land Sale on 19th instant, there was a large attendance, most of those present evidently having come to invest. The first land sold was the large paddock, sections 59 and 60, divided into about £ acre sections, 22 of which sold with great spirit at £31 10s to £69 each. The frontages to Shakespeare road were withdrawn at the reserved prices. Two sections, with 30 feet frontage;, each to Shakes-peare-road, part of the quarry opposite Mr, M. Fitzgerald's house, sold at £6 5s per foot. The neit lots consisted of 20 sections of 30 feet frontage each, in Hastings-street,; being sections 273, 274, and part of 272; the 10 sections fronting Hastings-street brought 48s to 58s per foot, and the corresponding sections fronting to the Sea 13s to 18s per foot. Town section 252 (£ acre) divided into 6 sections with 30 feet frontage to Has-tings-street, sold at 36s to 50s per foot, or at the rate of £1368 per acre. t Seven sections with 66 feet frontage to Emerson and Tennyson-streets —town sections 163, 170, 171, and part of legrealized 36s to 43s per foot. Part of Suburban section, 3s (No. 7) brought £28; 10 aores at Petane 52s 6d per acre, and \ acre at Blackhead £5 15s. Town sections 329, £20: 241, £28; and 242, £28. Town section 14, Havelock, £26. IThe house and land on the Spit lately occupied by Mr. Howard, brought £125. The sale realized in all £4028. We also learn that Mr John Stuart has sold by private contract that section in Hastings Street, with house thereon lately occupied by Mr. Brooke Taylor. The price obtained was £2 per foot frontage, for the land ; and £150 for the building.
