IN PURSUANCE of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled, " The Provincial Elections Act, 1858," I, John Russell Duncan, Esq.,- Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Waipukurau, do hereby cive notice that by virtue of a 'Writ bearing date the 24th June, 1864, issued under the hand of His Honor the Superintendent of the Province of Hawke's Bay, an election will be held for the return of one qualified person to serve as a member of the Provincial Council of Hawke's Bay for the said Electoral District, in lieu of T. P. Russell, Esq., resigned ; and that the nomination of candidates will take place at Mr. T. P. Russell's Wool-shed, Waipukurau, on TUESDAY, the sth July, and that the Poll (if necessary) will take place on Wednesday, the Oth July, and that I will declare the state of the Poll on TnuitsDAY, the 7th July.
