The Auckland papers acknowledge news to the 10th November. The American telegrams are disjointed, but do not indicate any balance of success in favor of either party. The Great Palmerston scandal is likely to turn out a swindle, judging from the letter of the solicitor of the noble Premier. The prose cuting solicitor is a pettifogging lawyer, who appears to have got up the case with the view of extorting money. j Most disastrous gales have occurred off the ' Coast of Great Britain and Ireland, entailing -great loss of life and property. The storm occurred at the end of October and beginning of November.
