Federal Cruisers after the Alabama. — An Adelaide telegram reports two days' later dates from the Cape of Good Hope — viz., to the 22nd August : — Two Federal cruisers, the Mohican and the Vanderbilt, arrived in Table Bay a few hours after the departure of the Alabama and Florida. The first- named vessel sailed again on the 22nd of August for a cruise on the coast of Brazil, towards which it was presumed the Alabama had sailed, and the Vanderbilt was speedily to follow. There was a great deal of speculation afloat as to the fate of the Confederate prize, the Sea Bride. Four men were obtained for her from, a vessel in Table Bay by a cargo boat making for Saldanha Bay. H.M.S. Valorous followed. The Passengers by the Madras— The Argus of the 12th has the following with reference to this subject : — " Among the passengers by the Madras is Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Henry Havelock(son of thelate General Hayclock, who led the Highland Brigade in the famous relief of. Lucknow). He proceeds to New Zealand to join, his regiment, the 18th Bxjyal Irish. The Madras has also brought one army surgeon and eight assistant surgeons, .who are proceeding to the camp at Auckland." These arrived at Auckland per Claude Hamilton. "Lietenant Colonel Havelook joined his regiment at Drury on the 3rd insfc, and, as we learn from the Southern Crosrf, was cheered in fine Btyle, he being a great favorite with the men.
