The Success left Auckland last Sunday morning, and, shortly after, met with a heavy nor-easler, when she put back and remained in Drunken Bay till the following morning. She then experienced light and variable winds as far as Portland Island, off which she was on Thursday morning; but a strong sou-west gale prevented her from coming up the Bay. She entered the Iron Pot at eleven yesterday morning. The Success is anew vessel, and is in command of our old acquaintance, Capt. Meiklejohn, late of the Excelsior. She looks a strong and handsome craft, and is another valuable addition to our coasting fleet. The Sea Serpent sailed from Wellington on Monday last at 11 a.m., and has had light northerly winds during the whole of the passage. She arrived in port at 3 p.m. yesterday. She brings a full cargo for this place.
