The Lord Ashley steamed out of Auckland at half-past 2, on Friday afternoon,and anchored at Napier at quar-. ter past 5, yesterday morning, accomplishing a pleasant run of 38 hours and 3 quarters; whioh is, we Relieve, the shortest passage ever made by a steamer. The wind was, light and variable during the whole time, and the trip, therefore, speaks well for the steaming qualities off this boat. The Kiwi has had a pleasant passage of 3 days, and; has come in search of a cargo. She brings no news. The Ashley steams for the south this (Monday) fore-, noon, at 2 o’clook. The mail closes at 12.
